With effect from 24 October, Hancocks has relocated the head office to The Barns, Springfield Farm, Brailes, Banbury, Oxon OX15 5JH, having closed their office at 46 The Green, South Bar Street, Banbury, Oxon OX16 9AB but retained their branch office at Commerce House, Telford Road, Bicester, Oxon OX26 4LD.
Hancocks acquired Cotswold Family Law (and with it, our Cotswolds office) on 1 May 2015 and Brooks Law (in Shipston-on-Stour, a few miles from Brailes) on 1 June 2017. In addition to wills and probate, family law and commercial property, we now provide conveyancing and elderly client services from Brailes, and we still provide conveyancing services from Bicester. Effectively, we have relocated Banbury conveyancing to Brailes, all other departments already being represented there.
Our managing partner Andrew Hardcastle says of the relocation:
“The pandemic was a gamechanger. Certain fee earners and support staff have embraced hybrid working which, with technology, reduces our need for office space and has given us the opportunity to bring other fee earners and support staff under two roofs (rather than three) with all the benefits that entails, and we hope our clients (and other professionals we work with) will notice the difference. This move consolidates our acquisitions of CFL and Brooks Law, by giving us a conveyancing presence in Brailes for the first time, and we see it as a positive step. It differentiates us from other firms of solicitors but we remain a Banbury firm (albeit with a head office strictly in south Warwickshire, which we hope won’t inconvenience our existing clients too much) and we also hope our clients will enjoy the rural location as much as we do. We are certainly excited about this; the Brailes office is actually larger than the Banbury office, and there is plenty of parking!”
